Saucy Mambo Steak Sandwich

Saucy Mambo Steak Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Uncle Dell’s Mambo Sauce
  • 1.5 lbs skirt steak
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 4 slices of pepper jack cheese
  • 1 baguette
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder

Directions:

  1. Season the steak with salt and let it sit while you slice the onion and bell peppers into strips.

  2. Pat the steak dry. On high heat, add oil and sear the first side of the steak. Flip it over after 2 minutes or until it easily releases. Cook on the other side for 2 minutes. Take it out and let it rest on a plate. (P.S, Don’t cut right away or it will not be juicy!) (P.P.S, we didn’t add the pepper or garlic powder because it will burn at the high temperatures.)

  3. Sauté the bell peppers and onion on medium heat until they are softened. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. The water released from them should deglaze the pan to add more flavor.

  4. Slice and toast your baguette. While it’s toasting, slice your steak against the grain. Optional: season with pepper and garlic powder now.

  5. On the bottom piece of bread, spread Uncle Dell’s Mambo Sauce, layer on the steak, then add the peppers and onions, and top with pepper jack cheese. Toast to melt the cheese and warm the steak.

  6. When the cheese is melted, take it out of the oven. Pour more Uncle Dell’s Mambo Sauce and top with the other piece of bread.

  7. Take a few photos to post on Instagram (tag us @uncledellsmambo) and enjoy!
